Golden chance to forge unity: Shah to separatists

‘Will sit together to take initiative regarding injured persons’

Appreciating the role played by Kashmiris residing outside India, Chairman Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), and senior Hurriyat (G) leader, Shabir Ahmad Shah Wednesday said that it is a golden chance for them to forge unity.
According to KNS Correspondent, addressing a presser here at his residence, Shah said, “It has been my long cherished dream to see the whole resistance leadership on a single platform under a single leader. We have rendered innumerous sacrifices which need to be safeguarded by resisting the Indian occupational rule in a unified manner. Almighty Allah has given us a golden chance of forging unity.”
He also appealed the well-off people to take educational responsibility of those whose parents were martyred during the last months of uprising in the Valley. “I want that the Kashmiri children must show their educational talent to the world. The well-off people must take the educational responsibility of the children’s of slain Kashmiris. We are with them,” he said.
Shah said that they are tiring to provide assistance to the people who suffered injuries during the last five months of uprising in the Valley. “We (leaders) want to sit together to decide anything regarding the plights of injured people. As soon as we sit together, we will definitely take an initiative regarding the issue,” he said.
He said that they also want to sit together to decide short term and long term programmes. “The people of Kashmir have sacrificed everything and it stands our responsibility now to respect their sacrifices.”
DFP chairman besides appreciating Kashmiri doctors appreciated Dr Natrajan for playing a vital role in dealing with the pellet victims of Kashmir.
He also appreciated the role played by the Kashmiris residing outside India. “People of residing outside India have played a vital role in awaking the world community about the sufferings of Kashmiris,” he said.
He said that they need to start more and more awareness programmes to highlight the plights of Kashmiris.
Meanwhile, Shah said that Pakistan is the only country which extended its moral and political support to Kashmiris. “We want that a cell should be constituted to aware the world comminute about the human rights violation in Kashmir,” he said, adding that the awareness camps will help Kashmiris to get more and more political support and to put pressure upon Government of India (GoI) over resolving the long pending Kashmir issue.
