Army gives gun salute to slain JCO

Kupwara | Feb 13: A pall of gloom descended Maidanpora area of Lolab when the body of JCO reached to his native village. Hundreds of people attended the last rites of soldier Mohammad Ashraf Mir here in North  Kashmir’s  Lolab area of Kupwara on Tuesday.
He was killed in a fidayeen attack at Sunjwana Jammu.
Mir’s body reached his native village today afternoon. He is survived by wife, two daughters (aged 3 and 2 years) and two sons, ailing father,  and one unmarried sister.
The local administration and 18 RR army also took part in his last rites and offered a gun salute to the JCO.
