Srinagar | Mar 01: Wife of senior Hurriyat leader Farooq Ahmad Dar said that the Joint Resistance leaders “who claim to be the icons of freedom struggle of Kashmir” have sent “cheap characters” to dishearten and demoralise her.

Dar’s wife Assabah Khan, who is also a KAS officer, in her Facebook post said:

“So called JRL I want to put in public domain that who claim to be the Icons of freedom struggle in Kashmir do not even have courtesy to call the family of their 30-years old colleague and ask how is his 5 year old child. I am basing my statement on my 8 months experience of incarnation of Farooq. They are happy to pose for a photograph with the families for their own cheap publicity. Yeah one thing they have done to send sm cheapy characters to dishearten and demoralise me. If such cheapesters are our leaders I wonder what is going to be the fate of this nation. We need to debate. Hw long will we maintain criminal silence ? Cheapos”

The JRL is a joint platform of Hurriyat groups led by Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF chairman Yasin Malik.

Dar, alias Bitta Karate, is currently lodged in Delhi’s Tihar jail. He was arrested last year on charges of money laundering along with other Hurriyat leaders Nayeem Khan, Peer Saifullah, Altaf Fantoosh, Ayaz Akbar, Shahidul Islam.
