Pulwama | March 27: Two local militants who were killed in an encounter in south Kashmir district of Pulwama On Sunday were laid to rest in their native villages today morning.
The J&K Police said the security forces and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police laid an ambush at village Padgampora Awantipora in Pulwama following specific information about movement of militants.
When the car reached near the naka, militants opened fire, they said, adding that the firing was retaliated and in the ensuing encounter two militants were killed.
One AK rifle, one SLR, one AK magazine, two SLR Magazines, two pouches and a grenade was recovered from the spot.
It was said by the police that the recovered SLR is the same which was looted on 8th of October 2016 from Tumlahal minority picket in Pulwama.
The two militants were identified as Farooq Ahmad Hurrah of Nazimpora in Shopian district and Shahbaz Shafi Wani alias Rayees Kachroo of Pulwama district.
