Kashmir: In Pics Here’s How Shopian Encounter Ended. Army Faced Tough Time

Shopian | March 04: An encounter that was underway between security forces and militants in Chillipora areas of south Kashmir’s Shopian district has ended. According to reports, the militants have managed to escape.

The encounter erupted after security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Chillipora village of the district following a tip off about the presence of militants there, a police official said. As the security forces were closing in, they came under fire from the militants, he said.
